Поверхностно и неоправданно-грубо,,практически все...
Не без хобота в посудной лавке...
Well, THAT was a totally schizophrenic musical experience !!!!
That was ugly.
Should be played with feeling, but as written. Whether the composer was a great improvisor or not, doesn't matter. Also IMHO the composer shouldn't be OK with people taking allowances with his music.
I think every composer can decide by himself what he's OK with.
@@PianoJFAudioSheet Can they? Of course but then the question becomes where they would draw the line on how much is too much
@@mr.scottpowell Every composer is an individual with individual views and opinions. There is obviously no universal answer
@@PianoJFAudioSheet agreed

I like the extended closing cadence. Very Mozkowskyesk
Yes, he's amazing
Tout simplement merveilleux merci maestro

How does he "hold" the long notes! Third pedal??
Play it with the right hand 😂😂
That's a good idea!@@suellendutra9037
The same pedal?
Sehr schöne Sendung und Werke, danke 3x
Thanks very very much 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

wow actually love this idea
Ma è splendido!
I can promise you, after just a few drinks, all you’ll be hearing from me is thomas the tank engine
5:26 Chopin fantaisie impromptu passage lmao
Who knew early 1800s texture and late 1800s harmony would go so well together?
Vaguely reminds me of Scriabin's style! Very reminiscent of Chopin and maybe Kalkbrenner too, but it's hard to tell since many wonderful romantic era pieces like this have obscure reference points on how they were created and while I love subjectivism I would still like to know what feelings made Friedman create such an emotionally in-depth piece.
I am reminded of an anecdote about a pianist once told by Arthur Rubinstein in an interview. He was a heavy drinker, came on stage hungover, and as soon as he sat down in his chair, he threw up and threw up all over the piano! I just hope he wasn't Friedman lol.
≈EtUde oP10 No 12
My teacher’s teacher’s teacher’s teacher!
Revolutionary etude, but with everything good taken out of it.
Quite the opposite. I mean, the revolution etude is great, but perhaps not among the best Chopin etudes. Chopin had so many great neglected etudes, that should be performed more. I like Friedmans etude. Friedman is in a way even more romantic than Chopin.
Genius !
It's good - but just too similar to the Chopin original to really have a life as a legitimate piece. Can the whole piece be found anywhere?
It's not that similar
Yeah this is in no way similar to revolutionary etude and if you consider these the "same", God forbid you learn music theory
@@itsshrimp91 please, the rhythmic structure and style has some clear similarities
Beautiful.
More like chopin appassionata prelude after drinks but i digress 😂😂😂
Revolutionary étude but you lived through early-XXth-century events and anxiety pills do not exist yet.
Revolutionary etude but actually good
True
ugh how dare you
Revolutionary Etude but I didn't practice it so it sounds good again
How dare you scriabin?
" *What do you mean you did Liszt but harder that doesn't exist* "
The Picardy Third is one of the best things music has ever given humanity.
I literally had no idea the improvisatsa for left hand was ONLY FOR THE LEFT HAND WHAT That totally changes things, I was meh on the piece at first but the fact that it's one handed is crazyyyy
He's got that really satisfying clickety-clack sound in the high notes
I am listening to this my mouth wide open... The finest elements of Godowsky, Rachmaninov, Stanchinsky, and Feinberg in one vessel... This is the ultimate material for those who want to learn how to write Late Romantic music. Change of priorities: investigate Friedman’s legacy now.
Gonna go play this rn
Friedman is one of the greatest pianistic minds to ever grace this planet! His playing was so exquisitely colourful and detailed and that feature is also present in his compositional output. They contain colours and pianistic devices that are totally unique to him! He was not a "profound master" in the leagues of the greats but he crafted some real jewels! That "Music Box" piece was performed at a much faster tempo by Friedman but Gugnin takes a wonderfully creative approach by slowing it right down and doing different things with it. Friedman would absolutely have approved! he loved creativity and individuality in performances!
8:19 didn't hear the F# on the E7.
Love the mazourka
Henselt: One of the most unfairly neglected composers ever
My mother used to play Autumn. Beautiful piece.
